As an Administration Officer, you will be the first point of contact for young people, their families and carers, providing professional, compassionate and efficient customer service both in person and over the phone. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality mental health care through a wide range of administrative duties including appointment scheduling, patient database management, correspondence, document preparation, filing, fleet and clinic room bookings, and general office administration.
Lake Macquarie is a unique shared mental health site where CAMHS and Adult Mental Health Services work alongside one another. As part of a collaborative administration team, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across both services, providing mutual support and contributing to a positive team culture that delivers excellent outcomes for our consumers.
About the role:
CAMHS is a specialist mental health service that assesses and treats young people 0 – 17 years of age and their families/carers who are living in the HNE Local Health District (LHD). The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic and innovative team and support them to provide excellent care to our young people/families. This position is based within the CAMHS Greater Newcastle team located at the Lake Macquarie office.

About you:
We're looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You'll have excellent customer service and communication skills, a positive and professional approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. Previous administration or customer service experience will be highly regarded, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
How you'll be supported:
You'll be well supported from day one through comprehensive orientation, ongoing training and a collaborative team environment. Reporting to the CAMHS Administration Manager, you'll receive day-to-day guidance from the CAMHS Greater Newcastle Team Leader and become part of a supportive district-wide administration network. You'll also work alongside experienced administration staff based at the Lake Macquarie Adult Mental Health Service, providing opportunities to learn from colleagues across both services while continuing to develop your skills through ongoing education and professional development.
