The Tradies & Quality Hotel Dickson is a values-driven organisation committed to staff growth and development. We’re seeking an experienced Café Shift Leader to join our team on a rotating roster. You’ll alternate fortnightly with another Shift Leader, working two weeks of day shifts, then two weeks of evening shifts, ensuring consistent leadership across our café operations.

About the Roster
This role works on a four-week rotating cycle, alternating with another Shift Leader:
2 weeks of day shifts:
- Wednesday to Sunday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
2 weeks of evening shifts:
- Wednesday: 12:00pm – 8:30pm
- Thursday: 3:00pm – 9:00pm
- Friday & Saturday: 5:15pm – 2:15am
- Sunday: 4:00pm – 12:30am
Note: shift times may vary slightly depending on business needs.
Shift Leader Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistently excellent coffee.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for members and staff.
- Be a role model and mentor for the café team, including training on coffee quality and service.
- Manage workflow efficiently during peak service periods.
- Maintain and operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Oversee stock management, including ordering and inventory control.
- Support food preparation and kitchen duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for great coffee and training others.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a team.
- Thrive in high-pressure service periods with excellent time management.
- Clear, professional communication with teammates and members.
- Previous café experience with strong barista skills.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Formal barista training or certification.
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Previous experience leading café teams or managing shifts.
- Current RSA/RCG.
