About the Role
We are looking for a qualified Welder to fabricate and repair metal products using various welding techniques. You will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and ensuring all structural steelwork meets strict quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and welding methods.
- Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces for welding by using flame-cutting, thermal cutting, and grinding tools.
- Cutting metal shapes using oxy-acetylene and electric cutting tools.
- Joining metal sections and components using a variety of welding techniques, including Electric Arc, MIG (GMAW), and TIG (GTAW) welding.
- Monitoring the welding process to prevent overheating and distortion of parts.
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualification: AQF Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (or equivalent overseas qualification).
- Experience: Minimum 1 years of relevant post-qualification work experience as a First Class Welder.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
