The purpose of this role is to provide pathology support services through specimen collection, specimen reception, laboratory processing and referral activities, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of diagnostic services to patients and healthcare providers.
What you'll do
In this role you will collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, perform specimen reception and registration activities, process and prepare samples for analysis and referral testing, maintain laboratory records and data entry systems, support stores and inventory functions, assist with quality control activities, liaise with patients and healthcare professionals, and contribute to the efficient operation of pathology services across Rockhampton and surrounding laboratory locations.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Has experience or interest in pathology, healthcare or laboratory support services
Can perform phlebotomy duties safely and professionally, or is willing to develop these skills
Has strong communication and customer service abilities
Demonstrates empathy and professionalism when working with patients
Has sound computer and data entry skills
Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team environment
