Northern Beaches Hospital is a Level 5 tertiary teaching hospital providing public and private healthcare services to the Northern Beaches community.
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, critical care, emergency, mental health, maternity, paediatric and specialty services. The Medical Administration Trainee will have opportunities to work across clinical, operational and executive portfolios and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
The Medical Administration Trainee position is designed to provide structured exposure to medical leadership, management, clinical governance, medical workforce administration, quality and safety, strategic planning and health service operations.
Working under the supervision of the Director of Medical Services (DMS) and Deputy Director of Medical Services (DDMS), the trainee will contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare services.
The role provides broad experience across a complex tertiary teaching hospital environment and supports the trainee in developing leadership capabilities, health system knowledge and practical management experience consistent with the RACMA Medical Leadership and Management Curriculum.

Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, extensive digital imaging / diagnostic facilities, medical centre collocated with ED, state of the art education and interactive SIM centre and a Helipad for Emergency Transport.
The Northern Beaches Hospital provides a high standard of education and training, with dedicated supervisors, teachers and a JMO Unit that supports all activities related to rostering, training, education and welfare of junior doctors.
On level 4 of the 9-storey hospital is the Education Centre where doctors can access a range of facilities. These include the latest technology for teaching, simulation and presentations, plus various meeting rooms and conference areas.
There is capability to stream education sessions to/from other facilities, as well as within the hospital for the simulation rooms and theatres.
