About this Opportunity
The Business Systems Officer will provide responsive front-line technical support and high-quality customer service to employees and business groups across VIDA’s Office of the Director-General and VIDA Services. Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Operations and Infrastructure, coordinate the procurement, deployment and ongoing management of IT hardware, software and audio-visual solutions. Support new starter set-up, technology inductions, mobile devices, user access requirements and the maintenance of accurate asset and service records.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, Cenitex, service providers and vendors, help resolve technical issues, support workplace and accommodation projects, and provide practical advice on IT policies, processes and systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to reliable day-to-day technology services while identifying practical ways to improve systems, processes and the employee experience.
About You
A capable and customer-focused IT support professional who enjoys solving problems and helping people use technology effectively. Brings sound technical knowledge, clear communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a responsive service environment.
Works well both independently and as part of a team, take ownership of issues and follow through on commitments. Comfortable building relationships with employees, service providers and vendors, and can translate technical information into clear, practical advice.
You’ll bring:
- Experience providing end-user support across hardware, software, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 applications and audio-visual technologies.
- Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and related collaboration tools.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate issues, identify practical solutions and escalate complex matters where required.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on responsive support and positive user experiences.
- The ability to coordinate technology procurement, deployment, asset management and service records accurately and efficiently.
- A collaborative, adaptable and improvement-focused approach, with the ability to remain composed when priorities or business requirements change.
Key Selection Criteria

- Digital and Technological Literacy: Demonstrated ability to utilise, support and guide others in the use of digital technologies and business systems. Maintains an understanding of the broader technology environment and contributes to the implementation and ongoing support of technology solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Takes steps to add value for the client or stakeholder, links people with other areas as appropriate, monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively deals with stakeholder issues.
- Customer Focus: Provides responsive and professional customer service, proactively seeking feedback and identifying opportunities to improve customer experience and service delivery outcomes.
- Specialist Expertise: Demonstrated experience providing IT support across hardware, software, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 applications, AV technologies and end-user computing environments. Experience supporting the provisioning and lifecycle management of technology assets is desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency supporting and utilising Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 applications, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and related collaboration technologies.
Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements
A relevant TAFE or tertiary qualification in information technology, business systems or a related discipline (or progress towards such a qualification) is desirable but not essential.
