About the role
As the Senior Pharmacist – ICU and Surgery, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert clinical pharmacy services within a dynamic and highly specialised healthcare environment. Working closely with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide advanced medicines management, therapeutic advice and clinical expertise to support optimal patient outcomes across the intensive care unit and surgical services. This is an opportunity to apply your professional judgement, leadership and clinical knowledge to ensure the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines while contributing to excellence in patient care.
In this rewarding role, you will take responsibility for the organisation and day-to-day operation of your designated pharmacy area, driving best-practice pharmacy services in line with professional standards, hospital policies and quality use of medicines principles. You will collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, assistants, interns and students, providing guidance and support while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence. About You
You are an experienced and clinically skilled pharmacist with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and leading pharmacy services within a complex healthcare environment. You bring strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
Qualified and Registered Professional – Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and are registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Experienced Clinical Leader – Bring extensive hospital pharmacy experience, with demonstrated leadership, supervisory or management expertise and a proven ability to drive service improvements and implement change.
Exceptional Communication and Teamwork Skills – Possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
Analytical, Organised and Results-Focused – Demonstrate strong problem-solving, research and data analysis capabilities, coupled with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to supervise, mentor and develop staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
