DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS WANTED | CANBERRA, ACT
ARYSE is looking for compassionate, reliable and genuinely inclusive Disability Support Workers to join a dedicated support team in the Canberra region.
We are currently building the right team around a participant who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and uses they/them pronouns. We are looking for support workers who are respectful, open-minded, non-judgemental and committed to providing support in a way that makes the participant feel safe, comfortable, understood and empowered.
At ARYSE, we believe the right support starts with the right person, not simply the next available worker. We focus on genuine connection, compatibility and creating a team that supports each participant to live their life their way.
What we are looking for:
- Respectful and genuinely LGBTQIA+ inclusive
- Consistent and respectful use of they/them pronouns
- Warm, engaging and able to build genuine professional relationships
- Confident supporting community access, social activities and everyday living
- Able to encourage independence, choice and personal goals
- Reliable, patient and emotionally aware
- Strong understanding of professional boundaries
- Comfortable supporting a participant to express their individuality and participate in the community in ways that are meaningful to them
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Ideally, you will have:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- ACT Working With Vulnerable People registration
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current Australian driver licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Disability support experience and/or relevant qualifications
Experience is important, but personality, attitude and the right fit matter just as much.
We want support workers who understand that great support is not about taking over. It is about listening, respecting choice, encouraging independence and helping someone live confidently as themselves.
