Wickham Freight Lines have a state-of-the-art Tyre Workshop and is seeking either an experienced Tyre Fitter or someone that aspire to become a Tyre Fitter to join our busy Tyre Bay team.
This is no ordinary fitter role where you only change tyres, but you will get to operate a forklift, learn how to operate a Tug vehicle to move Trailers around the yard and join a talented team of fitters.
You will be responsible for all tyre needs of Wickham Freight Lines, entire fleet. Our fleet includes 220 prime movers and over 600 vans. The role will require the successful applicant to work Monday to Friday as well as being on call as required.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Organise and balance tyres/wheels as required
- Remove, repair, fit and rotate heavy tyres
- Select tyres and rims for specific applications
- Inspect vehicle systems/components and determine preferred repair action
- Maintain and operate safe, clean, secure equipment & facilities
- Work closely with Tyre Bay manager on all thing’s tyres
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures
- Operate forklift and Tug Vehicle
- Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Wickham Freight Lines
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Reliable and punctual with an excellent attitude to work
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Possess a ‘C’ class driver’s licence
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to tyre fitting
- Must have a good fitness level with the ability to conduct tyre fitting tasks
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team
- Forklift Licence - Beneficial
