Café Manager – The Little Banksia
The Little Banksia is a well established cafe in Kensington, Western Australia. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manager to oversee all operations in our high-volume, fast-paced cafe. This is a full-time position requiring a hands-on leader with strong commercial and operational experience.
About the Role
This position is responsible for the overall management and performance of the café, including staff leadership, financial management, and operational control. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining business profitability and service excellence. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, maintaining customer relations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the café
- Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage staff
- Develop and manage staff rosters in line with operational needs
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue targets
- Manage stock control, purchasing, and supplier negotiations
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace regulations
- Maintain and improve customer service standards and resolve customer issues
- Implement operational procedures and initiate new and exciting menu items
- Report directly to business owners on performance and operational outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a café or restaurant management role
- Demonstrated experience in managing staff, budgets, and business operations
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements
- Relevant qualification in hospitality or business management (preferred)
