What you'll be doing
As a Technical Aide – Operating Suite, you will be responsible for the collection, cleaning, thermal disinfection, assembly, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical and surgical instruments, with a focus on equipment used to support anaesthetic services. Working independently and as part of a team, you will help ensure compliance with Australian Standards, infection prevention requirements and workplace safety obligations.
Prepare and set up sterile instruments and consumables for routine and emergency surgical cases
Clean, process, track and sterilise reusable medical equipment and instrumentation in accordance with AS/NZS 4187 standards
Maintain stock levels, replenish supplies and report equipment or inventory issues
Assist with the processing of anaesthetic breathing systems, scopes and specialised equipment
Support safe, efficient theatre operations through effective teamwork, quality improvement and adherence to infection control and WHS requirements
