Disability Support Worker
Faith Walk Support is looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Workers to support NDIS participants with daily living, community access, personal care, transport, household tasks, and social participation.
We are looking for workers who genuinely care about people, communicate respectfully, and understand the importance of consistency, dignity, safety, and professional boundaries when supporting people with disability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support participants with daily living activities and personal routines
- Assist with community access, appointments, shopping, and social activities
- Provide respectful personal care support where required
- Support participants to build independence and achieve their NDIS goals
- Follow participant support plans, behaviour support strategies, and care instructions
- Complete shift notes and report any incidents, risks, or concerns
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect participant privacy
- Work respectfully with families, carers, coordinators, and the wider care team
Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, Aged Care Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Community Support Worker, or similar role is preferred
- Experience supporting NDIS participants is highly regarded
- Experience with mental health, psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, complex behaviours, or personal care is an advantage
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, Aged Care, or similar is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
- Must be reliable, patient, respectful, and able to work independently
Required Documents and Checks
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check, if supporting participants under 18
- National Police Check, if requested
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Car registration and comprehensive car insurance, if providing transport
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- Resume and at least two professional references
- Relevant qualification certificates, if applicable
