Bunbury & Busselton Towing is a fast-paced towing and transport operation servicing the South West region. We work closely with insurance companies, auctions, dealerships, businesses and the general public to provide reliable towing, transport and storage solutions.
We are currently seeking an organised, confident and highly motivated Dispatch Officer to join our team.
About the Role
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating towing and transport jobs, communicating with customers and drivers, and ensuring jobs are prioritised and completed efficiently.
The role requires someone who can multitask under pressure, think ahead, make quick decisions and maintain a calm and professional manner at all times.
Key Responsibilities
· Answering incoming phone calls and customer enquiries
· Booking jobs into our dispatch software (Linksoft)
· Dispatching and coordinating tow truck drivers
· Monitoring and prioritising incoming insurance jobs received directly through Linksoft
· Managing urgent and time-sensitive jobs appropriately
· Communicating pricing and service costs to customers
· Processing credit card payments for non-account customers
· Coordinating vehicle collections and transport for our Pickles account
· Liaising with auction purchasers regarding vehicle collection arrangements
· Booking transport jobs within required due dates
· Maintaining accurate records and job updates within Linksoft
· Assisting with general administration and operational coordination
About You
To be successful in this role you will:
· Have strong communication and customer service skills
· Be highly organised with excellent multitasking abilities
· Be confident making decisions and prioritising workloads
· Have strong computer skills and the ability to learn software systems quickly
· Be able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
· Have excellent problem-solving skills and forward-thinking ability
· Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently
· Hold a current forklift licence/ticket
· Be confident operating a forklift to move vehicles safely
Experience in towing, transport, logistics, dispatch or scheduling will be highly regarded but is not essential for the right applicant.
Afterhours Requirements
This position includes participation in an afterhours phone roster approximately one weekend per month. During rostered weekends, the afterhours phone may receive calls 24 hours a day and applicants must be available to respond appropriately.
