Role Description
The Assistant Facilities Manager will support the Facilities Manager in administering the tactical delivery for the assigned properties and be the key point of contact for Evolve FM clients in the absence of the Facilities Manager
The role will have set KPIs and goals in place in line with its duties & responsibilities against which the candidate will be measured on an ongoing basis through performance reviews.
This role is based in Sydney office
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a key point of contact for facilities operations and ensuring client expectations are consistently achieved.
Support vendor and contractor management activities, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while complying with procurement requirements.
Assist with financial management activities, identifying opportunities to improve value for money, cost efficiencies, and operational performance.
Support site operations management, including planned and reactive maintenance coordination, work order reviews, contractor performance monitoring, and service delivery improvements.
Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, statutory regulations, fire safety standards, and organisational policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Monitor building performance, operational standards, and critical environment requirements while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
Support risk management activities, including property audits, business continuity planning, emergency response, and compliance initiatives.
Review maintenance activities, work orders, quotations, and service outcomes to ensure quality delivery and achievement of agreed KPIs and SLAs.
Provide after-hours operational support when required and assist with resolving facilities-related issues in a timely manner.
Basic understanding of technical aspects of property and facilities management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and engage effectively with stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (basic to intermediate level) and confidence using digital systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage issues and identify practical solutions.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Experience working in a similar environment to Schools Infrastructure NSW or within an education/property services environment will be highly regarded.
Current Working with Children Check (NSW) or the ability to obtain one.
