Disability Support Worker Opportunity | Bribie Island.
Esteem Mentoring is currently seeking mentors who are compassionate, reliable staff to support a gentleman on Bribie Island with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), psychosocial disabilities, who is also PEG fed, within a SIL environment and can at times display behaviours of concern. The participant enjoys fishing, community outings, and general connection, and responds best to staff who are calm, genuine, and able to build trust over time. The right staff member will be:

- Naturally empathetic, patient, and easy-going
- Able to provide emotional reassurance and create a safe, supportive presence
- Respectful of independence while offering gentle guidance when needed
- Confident supporting community access, daily routines, and meaningful engagement
- Comfortable supporting a participant who may display behaviours of concern
- Reliable, consistent, and professional
- Comfortable working within a SIL environment and as part of a broader support team
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the wider support team to ensure consistent care and communication
Requirements:
- Experience with ABI, psychosocial, behaviours of concern, or complex support needs highly regarded
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Driver’s Licence and insured vehicle
- First Aid & CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Infection Control Certificate

Casual hourly rates apply, including applicable penalty rates. We particularly seek applications from candidates who can work an inactive overnight sleepover 10pm to 600am, with either a evening SIL shift worked 4pm to 10pm and followed by 6am to 8am, or a roster to suit can be discussed. We also have day shifts in SIL between 6am to 1000am , plus a community access shift 1000am to 4pm to fill. Rostering has some flexibility to fit individual needs. Other shifts with other clients are available too.
