Shift Leader – Front of House

BAKE’D is looking for an experienced and energetic Shift Leader with strong coffee and barista experience to join our Front of House team at BAKE’D Bankstown.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, can confidently lead a team, and understands both high-quality coffee service and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Front of House team during shifts
- Manage service flow and allocate team members to stations
- Support the coffee station during busy periods
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based coffees when required
- Ensure coffee quality, presentation and consistency are maintained
- Monitor coffee workflow and speed of service
- Deliver friendly, fast and professional customer service
- Train and support new and existing team members
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and barista teams
- Handle customer enquiries and feedback professionally
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Assist with cash handling and POS procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety and WHS standards
- Lead by example during busy service periods
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Shift Leader, Supervisor or senior FOH team member in a busy café
- Strong barista and specialty coffee experience
- Confidence operating a commercial espresso machine and grinder
- Good knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing and coffee quality
- Ability to maintain speed and consistency during high-volume coffee service
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confidence running a busy café shift
- Ability to stay calm, organised and hands-on under pressure
- A positive and reliable attitude
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays
