The Northside Hotel is a well-established venue in Lavington, offering modern food, functions, sports bar and family-friendly dining. Our kitchen is an integral part of our success, and we're looking for a leader who shares our passion for quality and consistency.
The Role
The role involves managing a kitchen team and cooking top quality food to the high standards set. This role forms part of a 4-6 person kitchen and will require excellent working knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine as well as previous experience gained in successful restaurants or bistros.
Your overall responsibility is to lead by example through the execution of top quality dishes, ensuring the Bistro's high standards are maintained at all times.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Must be trade qualified and hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
- Will have minimum six (6) years Post Qualified experience.
- Previous high calibre hotel bistro or restaurant experience
- Must have experience working in any high volume venue environment.
- Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team, is essential.
- Menu development, with focus on seasonal produce.
- Weekly specials.
- Full responsibility of ordering.
- Costs and stock control.
- Management of kitchen staff.
- The successful applicant will be able to motivate staff, create and foster an enthusiastic work environment whilst maintaining a high quality product.
- Collaboration with Front of House management.
- Maintaining consistency in food quality.
- Upholding food safety and OHS requirements.
- A key success in this role, is a genuine passion for producing great food coupled with excellent organisational skills, a reliable honest attitude and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, have an approachable manner and a strong customer service focus.
