As a Carpenter at Ismart Building Group you will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks to construct, install, repair, and maintain various structures and fixtures. You will need to demonstrate expertise in interpreting blueprints, utilizing hand and power tools, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship. will work closely with project managers, architects, and other trade professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
· Construction and Installation: Construct, install, and assemble structures, fixtures, and fittings according to specifications and blueprints. This includes framing, roofing, flooring, windows, doors, cabinetry, and other wooden components.
· Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures, fixtures, and furniture. This involves assessing damage, determining appropriate solutions, and executing repairs to restore functionality and appearance.
· Measurement and Layout: Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials using hand and power tools, ensuring precise dimensions and fit. Apply appropriate levelling and alignment techniques to ensure accurate installation.
· Material Selection and Procurement: Select and procure appropriate materials for each project, considering factors such as quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Coordinate with suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and building codes to maintain a safe working environment. Identify potential hazards and take necessary precautions to mitigate risks.
· Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure smooth workflow and efficient project execution. Communicate effectively and professionally with team members to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
· Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality control in all carpentry work. Conduct thorough inspections and assessments to identify any defects or areas requiring improvement and make appropriate adjustments.
· Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for all carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. Report any malfunctions or equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
· AQF Certificate III or equivalent
· At least two years in a similar position

· Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably in both residential and commercial settings.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and construction plans.
· Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
· Ability to accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble various types of wood and other construction materials.
· Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
