About the role
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join our Bundall studio. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will take conceptual designs through to fully resolved, code-compliant documentation packages, and support the studio's high-end visualisation output.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and documentation — floor plans, elevations, sections and construction details — in ArchiCAD within a BIM-based environment.
- Develop, manage and coordinate 3D models to ensure consistency between design intent and documentation outputs.
- Prepare documentation packages for council submissions, development approvals and construction, ensuring compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
- Produce photorealistic architectural visualisations using D5 Render for client approvals and planning assessments.
- Prepare detailed interior documentation and joinery details, including kitchens, bathrooms and built-in elements.
- Prepare schedules of materials, finishes and fixtures aligned with design and construction requirements.
- Review and revise drawings in response to design changes, internal feedback and project requirements.
- Liaise with builders, consultants, certifiers and suppliers to resolve technical queries.
- Maintain project documentation, milestones and compliance tracking through the studio's Notion-based workflow systems.
- Apply generative AI tools (Nano Banana, Kling, GPT, the Magnific platform) and AI-assisted workflows such as Claude Cowork to enhance rendering efficiency and design iteration.
Skills and experience required
- AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Architecture, Building Design or Architectural Drafting (or overseas equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in architectural drafting and documentation, ideally in residential projects.
- Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD and BIM workflows.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, with rendering experience in D5 Render.
- Working knowledge of the NCC and relevant Australian Standards, with experience preparing DA and BA documentation.
- Experience in interior documentation, joinery detailing and finishes schedules.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools — Nano Banana, Kling, GPT, the Magnific platform — and AI-assisted workflows such as Claude Cowork (highly regarded).
- Experience with Notion or similar project management platforms (highly regarded).
- Excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.
