Male Support Worker – Community Access (NDIS)
10:00am – 2:00pm Daily
Location: Logan area
Are you an experienced male Support Worker with a strong background in mental health and psychosocial disability support? We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly experienced Support Worker to assist an NDIS participant with daily community access and social engagement.
This role involves supporting a male participant to access the community each day between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Activities may include attending local clubs, playing the pokies, shopping, attending appointments and supporting meaningful community participation.
The participant lives with multiple mental health diagnoses including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
At times of increased stress, the participant may experience delusional thinking. The successful applicant must have extensive experience supporting individuals with complex mental health presentations and be confident working within a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed framework. You will be supported by a great company; and committed behaviour support specialist and COS.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent
- Experienced in supporting NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities
- Skilled in de-escalation and managing complex behaviours
- Reliable, professional and able to maintain strong boundaries
- Committed to promoting independence, dignity and community inclusion
- Comfortable working independently in the community
· Essential requirements:
Demonstrated mental health support experience
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
· Minimum Cert 3
Current First Aid and CPR
Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
· Comprehensive insurance
Strong communication and documentation skills
