Recreation Services is a dynamic team dedicated to supporting community sport and recreation organisations, sporting clubs and active recreation opportunities across the Gold Coast. We work collaboratively to maximise the value of community facilities, build strong partnerships and deliver positive outcomes that enhance participation, wellbeing and community connection
About the role
The City has an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about community development, thrives on building partnerships and can bring people and organisations together to achieve positive outcomes.
Our Recreation Service Officer will work closely with sporting clubs, recreation groups and community organisations to strengthen their capability, governance and resilience. You will build strong partnerships, encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing, and lead initiatives that support greater community impact, including the planning and delivery of annual divisional summits.
Key responsibilities:
Strengthen the capability, sustainability and effectiveness of community organisations through targeted support, training and development initiatives.
Coordinate organisational sustainability reviews as part of lease renewal processes, identifying governance, financial and operational improvement opportunities.
Connect community organisations with relevant resources, funding opportunities and best-practice information.
Build and maintain strong partnerships and networks across community organisations, sporting clubs and key stakeholders.
Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and partnerships to strengthen organisational resilience and community outcomes.
Lead the planning and delivery of annual divisional summits, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration and sharing of best practice.
Translate summit outcomes into practical actions and ongoing sector improvement initiatives.
Develop and deliver community capacity-building programs aligned with organisational and community needs.
Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, providing strategic reporting and recommendations to support continuous improvement
We’re looking for people who have:
Qualification within Sport, Recreation or Community industry or equivilant knowledge and experience
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Partnership and collaboration skills
Drivers Licence C Class
