In the heart of Rosebery, Deli Republic at The Cannery celebrates good food done right — fresh, flavourful, and made from scratch. Our kitchen team crafts everything in-house, from crowd-favourite paninis and bagels to baked goods, sauces, and seasonal specials that let great ingredients shine.
We’re on the lookout for a Chef de Partie or Commis Chef to join our small, friendly kitchen crew on a casual or part-time basis. If you love a busy service, enjoy working with quality ingredients, and want to be part of a team that takes pride in every plate, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Prepping and cooking menu items to a high standard
- Working closely with the team to keep things running smoothly during service
- Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- Assisting with stock and inventory when needed
What we’re looking for
- 2 years’ experience in a similar Chef de Partie or Commis role
- Experience in fast-paced service is a must
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or current student visa studying Cookery)
- Strong technical cooking skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and genuine love for good food
- Pastry experience is not essential; however, basic pastry knowledge or a willingness to learn would be highly regarded
- Weekend availability is essential
