Over 70% of all funds under management (FUM) are managed in-house by our dedicated Investments team. We strongly believe our in-house management strategy ultimately leads to ‘greater retirement outcomes for our members’ through lower fees, sustainable investment options and top quartile investment performance.
We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant for a 12-month period, you will support the accuracy, integrity and control that helps UniSuper deliver strong financial outcomes for our members.
The role
The key focus of this role is supporting accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting and investment accounting for the Fund and its investment entities. You will contribute to strong financial control, data integrity, insightful analysis and practical improvements across processes, systems and controls.
You will:
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations and supporting workpapers
- Analyse custodian-produced NAVs, trial balances and valuation feeds, and solve exceptions promptly
- Support investment accounting across listed equities, fixed income, cash, derivatives, currency overlays, private equity, property, infrastructure and credit
- Prepare and review General Ledger reconciliations, variance analyses and management reports
- Support regulatory submissions and maintain documentation to evidence compliance with APRA prudential standards and internal policies
Improve accuracy and timeliness by identifying automation opportunities across reconciliations, exception management and reporting

About you:
You bring strong accounting, investment operations and stakeholder engagement experience, with the judgement to solve problems and deliver quality outcomes. You enjoy working with detail, data and deadlines, and you communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Experience with superannuation, fund management or a custodian
- Strong knowledge of accounting, unit pricing, control and reconciliation principles
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working with outsourced provider relationships to support agreed service standards
Analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic and logical approach
