Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, update and review civil and telecommunications drawings and field mark-ups using AutoCAD and other drafting tools for fibre and underground infrastructure works.
- Interpret civil engineering drawings, network plans, underground service information and project specifications to support accurate construction and field execution.
- Record site measurements, set-outs, field conditions and completed works for as-built documentation and drawing updates.
- Maintain drawing revisions, technical records, quality-control documentation and supporting project information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors and field crews to translate design requirements into practical site set-outs and construction activities.
- Identify clashes, constraints and constructability issues involving existing underground utilities and assist with practical drawing and site adjustments.
- Support design and documentation for trenching, conduit routes, pits, pit-and-pipe systems, dig-down repairs, fibre remediation and underground service reinstatement.
- Check dimensions, locations, clearances and completed works against drawings, project specifications, quality requirements and site conditions.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with quality assurance to ensure civil works and reinstatement activities are completed to required standards.
- Follow WHS procedures and project requirements relating to underground services, field safety, traffic management and safe civil construction practices.
Skills and Experience Required
- AQF Advanced Diploma in Civil Construction and Design, Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimumone (1) year' relevant experiencein civil engineering drafting, civil construction documentation or telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Strong AutoCAD capability and demonstrated ability to interpret and produce civil, engineering and telecommunications drawings and mark-ups.
- Experience with underground telecommunications infrastructure, including trenching, conduits, pits, pipe systems, fibre routes and remediation works, will be highly regarded.
- Practical experience with site measurements, set-outs, as-built information, drawing revisions, site inspections and quality-control documentation.
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements, underground service constraints and safe work practices in civil construction environments.
- White Card and relevant telecommunications, cabling, underground services or traffic-management certifications will be highly regarded.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
