What’s the role?
If you're looking to deepen your exposure to enterprise wide risk modelling and broaden your stakeholder network across Westpac, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Model Risk team.
With investment secured to grow the Enterprise Models function and increasing focus on AI and machine learning across the Group, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of the bank's most strategic and evolving model risk challenges.
You'll work on the independent validation of enterprise models used across areas including capital, financial crime, funding and liquidity risk, operational risk, conduct and compliance risk. You'll partner with stakeholders across the bank to review methodologies, assess model performance, challenge assumptions and help strengthen model risk management practices.
This role offers the chance to build expertise in model validation while contributing to meaningful risk outcomes across the organisation.
This is a permanent full time opportunity based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.
What do I need?
- Experience working with quantitative or mathematical models
- Strong programming capability in tools such as Python, R, SQL or SAS
- Ability to communicate complex findings in a clear and practical way
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
- A background in statistics, mathematics, engineering, finance, econometrics or a related quantitative discipline
