What you'll be doing
This position provides medical services at RPA Sexual Health in the inner west of Sydney and various outreach clinics as required. The four full-time equivalent (FTE) Sexual Health Trainee positions (of which 2.0 FTE are accredited as Advanced Training positions by the RACP Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine) play an integral role in the multidisciplinary team of the Department, which includes nursing, counselling and administration staff.
The key role of the trainee is to provide testing for, and management of, HIV and other sexually transmissible infections (STIs) focussing on individuals and populations at risk of and/or of public health importance to STI/HIV transmission. Other roles include, but are not limited to, education and teaching, participation in clinic research activities, liaison with other clinicians involved in patient care, liaison with and notification to local Public Health Unit, clinical support and advice to sexual health nurses and counsellors, providing specialist sexual health advice to other Specialists, General Practitioners & other health care workers within the hospital & local area, participation in clinical audits and administrative tasks. Training and supervision will be provided commensurate with experience. Job share will be considered.
