In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering safety initiatives and provide specialist coaching and advice on worksite protection, including advising on network rules and procedures and conducting relevant competence assurance activities to ensure compliance and improve the competence of relevant frontline personnel.
You will manage implementation of safe working systems within the Local Possession Authority (LPA) framework. Demonstrate expert understanding of protection arrangements, LPA requirements, coordinated worksites, own protection requirements, safe notices, and the application of all methods of worksite protection and authorities.
This is a critical role to ensure that our Protection Officers are meeting required safety standards.
You will meet with a lot of people, improve and have great influence on the safety of the business.
You will work as part of a team with regular meetings and catch ups.
This is a permanent full time site-based role and will require some outside of hours work, overtime and travel. This Role will be based out of Clyde Hub, however there is an expectation travel to worksites across the Sydney Trains network.

About you
Highly skilled in developing, reviewing, and implementing Worksite Protection Plans in accordance with guidelines and industry best practice, ensuring compliance while maintaining safe, efficient, and well-coordinated operations.
Recognised for providing expert coaching, mentoring, and operational support to Protection Officers, Traffic Officers, and work groups, promoting a strong safety culture through leadership, collaboration, and effective communication across diverse worksite environments.
Great attention to detail and time management skills.
Track record of report writing and investigation skills.
Excellent communication both written and verbal and good command of the Microsoft Office suite, (e.g. Word, Excel).
Knowledge and understanding of Network Rules and Procedures.
Qualified Protection Officer Level 4 or above.
TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment completed or the ability to gain the qualification within 6 months.
A Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
