Regional Livestock Exchanges (RLX) is a leading agriculture organisation with core strengths of Infrastructure Management, stock handling and sales services, our operations are located throughout the eastern seaboard. This role is located at Inverell - Livestock Exchange (IRLX).
The IRLX site provides a state-of-the-art livestock auction facility that promises a competitive market for buyers and sellers. As one of the most advanced livestock facilities in Australia today IRLX represents a new era in livestock marketing. The IRLX facility holds a weekly Prime market and fortnightly Sheep market. Boasting one of only three sheep weighbridges in Australia, the sheep market continues to remain strong with prime lambs being key to the New England area.
About the Role:
This role provides hands-on leadership of livestock activities across the site, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant livestock operations. Leading a dedicated team of livestock employees, the role is responsible for coordinating livestock movements, feeding programs, sale day preparation and customer interactions, while supporting strong outcomes in animal welfare, biosecurity, safety and operational performance.
Responsibilities:

Lead, support and coordinate the livestock team to deliver safe, efficient and professional livestock activities across the site.
- Oversee all livestock movements through the facility, including receival, penning, drafting, sale day movements, delivery and dispatch.
- Coordinate livestock feeding, watering and care requirements, including sheep feeding, agistment, cattle delivery and horse movement requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for agents, vendors, buyers, transport operators and other customers, ensuring responsive and professional interactions on site.
- Manage sale day livestock activities to support efficient throughput, strong customer service and effective operational outcomes.
- Ensure animal welfare, biosecurity, safety and environmental requirements are understood, applied, monitored and reported in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Identify, report and record any potential animal welfare, safety, biosecurity or compliance incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Support the Business Manager in the management of site operations, compliance obligations, operational expenditure and capital expenditure in accordance with approved budgets.
- Contribute to business performance, compliance and financial reporting, including sale day activity and operational outcomes.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, contractors and third parties involved in the operation of the RLX facility.
- Contribute to the identification of operational improvements, customer service opportunities and new business opportunities relevant to the site.
- Assist with the accounting and administration of sale day activity as required.
Qualifications:

Current First Aid Certificate
- Firearm license
- Machinery operation qualifications
- Demonstrated skill and experience in leading and managing people
