The Project Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing civil construction projects within the Council's civil infrastructure portfolio. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects are executed safely, to specification, and within budgetary constraints, all while maintaining a strong focus on quality and environmental performance.
As the on-site representative of the Council, the Project Supervisor is tasked with managing risks, contractor performance, and compliance with all relevant legislative and contractual requirements. This role may involve supervising night works, particularly in asphalt and road pavement construction.
The ideal candidate for the Project Supervisor role will possess a strong background in civil construction supervision and contract administration. They will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, alongside effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- NSW General Construction Induction (White Card).
- Experience in supervising civil construction works, including road pavements and drainage.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring contractor performance and compliance.
The successful candidate will also exhibit sound judgement in escalating issues, providing technical advice, and leading contractor performance management initiatives. Exposure to working within a local government environment would be an advantage.
