Leeton Shire Council is seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Plant Operator to join our team within the Roads Maintenance team.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

To operate all Heavy and Light plant for daily works pertaining to all construction, maintenance and associated works regarding State, regional, urban and rural local roads, urban and rural drainage and roadside furnishings.

Provide duties across all roads teams when required.
About the position:

Primarily operate loader, backhoe, grader, tractor mounted stabiliser, Jet-patcher, Truck & Dog Trailer, and other plant items as required.

Perform drainage pipe laying and headwall installations

Perform other duties and have a thorough understanding of: cleaning procedures, other construction plant operation, hydraulics, lifting equipment, general truck driving, small plant operation, tip truck operation, tractor with implement operation.

About You
The successful candidate will be licensed/competent in the operation of heavy plant, including a loader, backhoe and grader with at least four (4) years relevant work experience.
The successful candidate must posses a minimum of HR licence, holding an MC licence or willingness to obtain is preferable.
This position is Full Time– 76 hours per fortnight (with a fortnightly RDO).
Salary: Grade 5 in Council’s salary system ($29.30 to $32.99 per hour) depending upon qualifications and experience, plus 12% Superannuation.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a Functional Assessment which includes an alcohol and other drug screening and a hearing test.
