Shanghai Red is proud to present legendary xiao long bao in our exquisite flavour, a tribute to Chinese delicacy and a tantalising experience for all. Xiao Long Bao is a famous Jiangnan delicacy originating from Nan Xiang, Shanghai, which is also known as a soup dumpling. It is traditionally steamed and served in small bamboo baskets, hence the name (Xiaolong, which literally means “small steaming basket”).

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Cook to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the kitchen team in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and portion control are maintained at all times.
- Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with stock rotation.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
- Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
- Minimise food wastage and contribute to cost control initiatives.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in accordance with food safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant kitchen experience.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
