Opportunity to provide administrative support to the School of Mathematics and Statistics
Base Salary $93,345 - $104,515 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Sydney Mathematical Research Institute (SMRI) within the School of Mathematics and Statistics is currently seeking an Administrative Officer to support the Institute’s academic and professional staff. The Administration Officer will act as a first point of contact for visitors to SMRI, set up afternoon teas, assist with financial processes, provide support with events and maintain records. They will also utilise judgement and procedural knowledge to undertake other administrative processes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
provide day-to-day administrative assistance to academic and professional staff
act as a first point of contact for visitors to SMRI and assist with in-person visitor queries
contribute to a positive workplace by maintaining a neat and welcoming space for visitors
organise regular afternoon teas and support SMRI events, where required
assist with finance processes, such as invoices and reimbursements
maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures
About you
proven experience in an administrative role, including managing correspondence, scheduling, data entry and general administration support
excellent communication skills including high level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with other school staff and visitors to the school
strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
We are seeking a team member who can undertake a 0.5FTE role across 3 or 4 days. Days on campus would ideally include Monday, Thursday and one other day.
