The Role
Reporting to the Head of Discipline – Electrical - Oceania, the successful applicant will be part of a busy project team delivering brownfields oil & gas modification projects for our client.

- Senior, autonomous role built on technical authority and client relationships. Responsible for planning, co-ordinating and directing a major segment or technical aspect of the engineering-related activities within a project, or act as a Focal Point/Lead Engineer on a project
- Directly responsible for the performance of engineering and design resources under his accountability
- Provides technical support to engineers and designers
- Must be familiar with Oil and Gas industry standards and practices
- Experience with delivering electrical front-end and detailed design input to engineering projects
- MV and LV distribution design, motors, transformers and switchgear/MCC equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration, interface management, and reviewing power systems studies and protective device settings
- Experienced with electrical power studies software such as: ETAP, PowerFactory or SKM
- Chartered Engineer, CPEng or RPEQ registration
- Competent in hazardous area classification (AS/NZS 60079) to AU/NZS4761
- Organises, executes and coordinates assignments within agreed budget and schedule
- Assist with compilation of safety-critical engineering documentation to facilitate project close-out
- Regular interaction with discipline engineers and project engineers to meet budget and schedule
- Familiar with the change management process

- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc/ M.Sc/ B.Eng)
- Chartered Engineer, CPEng registration.
- Should have over 12+ years of post-graduate experience, with 9 years in the O&G or petrochemical industry
- RPEQ preferred
- Good communication skills. Capable of communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and clients’ representatives
