You thrive in a fast-paced team environment that challenges you.
Work in an organisation based on purpose, structure and process. You know that to make a meaningful contribution to our community and economy, there needs to be diligence in our operations.
In this role, you'll:
Work within our Regional Transport Operations Centre within the Operations Management Branch of the Coordinator General division at Transport for NSW, with a focus on operating a range of network and tunnel management systems; and coordinating responses to planned events and unplanned incidents.
This role will see you working closely with our Transport Management Centre’s traffic operations room while focusing on the achievement of team goals and objectives to optimise the customer experience when travelling on the State transport network in Regional NSW.
You will Identify and assess unusual congestion and delays, including any impacts to transport corridors or routes. This will see you operate control systems for the State network (traffic and tunnel) in regional NSW, including tunnel ventilation, power, fire and drainage systems, and network management devices, such as variable message signs, variable speed limit signs and lane use management signs.
This is a 24/7 operations centre and therefore you will be required to work a rotating roster covering day and night shifts and often be available on public holidays throughout the year as required. As these are shift work positions, attractive penalty and overtime rates, along with 5 weeks annual leave per year will apply.

About you
Your experience will be in coordinating with professionals across levels and divisions and with a proven ability to exercise sound judgement, risk mitigation and problem-solving in a transport and tunnel environment.
You’re recognised for your experience in network management and computerised electronic traffic and transport systems, together with a sound understanding of network management, along with effective communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
You are also able to support the management of unplanned incidents, including evaluating and reporting on outcomes, engaging with high-profile stakeholders, and managing tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
This is an Award Transport USS Grade 8 Permanent Full-Time role based onsite at McLeods Shoot at the Regional Transport Operations Centre.
