We are seeking Support Workers to join our team to support a young man in the Medina area. He is kind and energetic, and loves daily walks, hitting balls at the driving range, gaming and spending time with his family. He has a great sense of humour.
He has some difficulty communicating via speech; however, he can communicate well with anyone who knows him well. He is working hard to improve his speech while in the community.
This person requires ongoing support throughout each day to live safely at home and to connect and engage with the community in the way that he chooses. You will provide support with daily living activities, as well as with social and community participation.
The successful applicants in this role will have excellent communication skills. They will be enthusiastic and take the initiative to get involved in day-to-day activities. They will be outgoing and have a natural ability to think quickly and clearly in complex situations. They will have a calm nature, work well under pressure, and be able to follow a plan.
Having a good understanding of and experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferable, but we are interested in hearing from people with a diverse range of experience.
