Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast. This role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, implementing care plans, and supporting children with their developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people

Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and activities

Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments

Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de-escalation techniques

Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes

Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams

Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements, and organisational policies

Demonstrated experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management

Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) – highly desirable

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check – QLD)

NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
