Lead quality. Drive consistency. Develop people. Strengthen every centre.
Scribbles & Giggles is seeking an experienced Area Manager to provide strategic operational, educational and compliance leadership across our services.
This is a senior leadership role for an early childhood professional with a strong track record across all seven Quality Areas, with particular expertise in Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice.
The Role
Working closely with senior management and Centre Managers, you will provide oversight, direction and accountability across education, compliance, operations, governance, people leadership and continuous improvement.
A key priority of this role is ensuring Quality Area 1 is consistently strong across every service. You will lead and support the development of high-quality educational programs, curriculum planning, educational calendars, program implementation, documentation and assessment practices, ensuring they meet the requirements of the NQS, EYLF and NSW regulatory framework.
You will also oversee or support:
- Quality Areas 1–7 and service-wide compliance
- Educational leadership, curriculum development and program quality
- Centre operations, staffing and workforce planning
- NQF compliance, assessment and rating readiness
- Quality Improvement Plans and continuous improvement
- Child safety, supervision, incident and risk management
- Governance, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Centre Manager performance, development and accountability
- Internal compliance reviews, audits and action plans
- Family engagement and service quality
- Consistent implementation of policies and standards across multiple centres
About You
You will have:
- Minimum 5 years' leadership experience in early childhood education and care within the past 10 years
- Experience in one or more senior roles such as Educational Leader, Room Leader, Assistant/Centre Manager, Nominated Supervisor, Operations Manager or Area Manager
- Demonstrated and substantial expertise in Quality Area 1, including curriculum development, educational planning and program compliance
- Strong working knowledge of all seven NQS Quality Areas
- Excellent knowledge of the National Quality Framework, EYLF, National Law and Regulations and NSW regulatory requirements
- Proven experience leading teams and supporting Centre Managers and Educational Leaders
- Strong governance, compliance, analytical and organisational capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The ability to identify gaps, implement solutions and hold teams accountable for outcomes
- A current Diploma or higher ACECQA-approved qualification
- Current Working with Children Check and required child protection/first aid qualifications
- Full-time availability and the ability to travel between Scribbles & Giggles services
What We Are Looking For
This is not a purely administrative Area Manager position.
We are looking for someone who can walk into a service, understand the educational and operational environment, identify what is working and what needs to improve, and provide practical leadership to achieve measurable results.
You will need to be equally comfortable discussing curriculum and pedagogy with an Educational Leader, compliance with a Nominated Supervisor, operational performance with a Centre Manager and strategic priorities with senior management.
Most importantly, you will be passionate about high-quality education and practice, while understanding that strong educational outcomes depend on strong governance, leadership, people, systems and operations.

We are building a leadership team committed to quality, consistency, accountability and continuous improvement across every service.
