Your new role:
This role delivers planned and corrective maintenance across plumbing and hydraulic plant, infrastructure and equipment within Metro South Health facilities. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to high-quality standards in accordance with legislative, procurement and WHS requirements. Working under the Trade Supervisor, you'll provide expert technical advice, troubleshoot and resolve issues, manage materials and contractors, and support asset condition monitoring and compliance. This hands-on role is key to maintaining safe, functional and reliable hospital environments with minimal disruption to staff and patients.
About you:
You are a skilled and safety-focused plumbing professional with strong technical expertise in hydraulic systems and a proven ability to deliver high-quality maintenance services within complex, high-demand environments such as healthcare or large infrastructure settings. You will have:
Strong experience in installation, maintenance and repair of hydraulic plant, systems and infrastructure
Proven ability to prioritise competing workloads, manage resources and deliver high-quality outcomes unsupervised
Confident problem-solver with the ability to diagnose issues, develop practical solutions and implement effective repairs
Excellent communicator who builds strong working relationships with staff, contractors and stakeholders at all levels
Sound knowledge of WHS requirements, relevant legislation, standards and compliance frameworks within trade environments

Metro South Maintenance Services delivers planned and corrective maintenance across all Metro South Health facilities, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant infrastructure in support of hospital operations and asset management objectives. Operating under a centralised Building, Engineering & Maintenance model, the service focuses on improved efficiency, continuous improvement and a modern client service approach. This includes a multi-skilled trade workforce based at nominal locations but working flexibly across all Metro South sites to meet operational needs and service demand.
