Sono Japanese Restaurant – Brisbane’s premier modern Japanese restaurant located on the beautiful Brisbane River is currently looking for an Experienced Bar Staff.
Whilst primarily preparing orders for the restaurant, bar staff are engaged in all aspects of bar work with duties including customer service, cocktail and coffee making, and the service of a wide range of wine, spirits and sake both in the bar and on the floor. We are requiring a bar staff with a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a keen interest in learning a diverse range of skills and would like to further their career in hospitality.
The successful applicant will begin by primarily serving drinks and assisting other bartenders in the bar. We are looking for someone with strong cocktail knowledge and sound wine knowledge. Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and beverages would be an advantage, but not essential. Training will be provided in wine service, product knowledge, cocktail and coffee preparation, with an increasing focus on bar work as the employee’s skills improve.
The team at Sono work hard to ensure a warm and comfortable atmosphere for both our staff and patrons. Training and regular hours will be provided to a candidate that shows they are able to work hard when required, as well as display an eye for quality and detail in their daily work ethic. Familiarity with Japanese culture would also be of value, however is not necessary.
Work hours will mainly consist of lunch and dinner shifts, Tuesday to Sunday. Whilst we do not guarantee hours, a hard working and friendly staff member can initially expect to receive approx. 20 hours per week. This position is paid under the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 [MA000119]
