LIFE IN THE ROLE?- Have the opportunity to assist in the swimming of world-class racehorses!?
We are seeking a permanent part-time Equine Pool Attendant to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-operated Equine Pool at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse. Availability to work both Saturday and Sunday is essential, with a total of 10 hours per week. Applicants must be confident and experienced in handling horses
Key accountabilities of the role include:

Assisting horses when entering and exiting the pool
-
Undertake repairs, maintenance and cleaning activities within the Equine Pool and associated areas
-
Monitor the swimming of the horses by trainers, jockeys, and strappers to ensure swimming activities are conducted in accordance with ATC Equine Pool guidelines
-
Provide appropriate assistance to trainers, jockeys, and strappers to contribute to a safe working environment in the Equine Pool precinct

Maintain water quality and cleanliness by monitoring chemical levels and ensure staff conduct regular water tests, order chemicals, and maintain relevant records

Vacuuming of pool following each pool opening shift

Ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times

Any other ad-hoc duties as required?
ABOUT YOU?
To be successful in the role, the right fit will possess:
-
Knowledge of safe handling & storage of chemicals used for cleaning/maintaining a pool
-
Knowledge of the operation of pool filtration systems & associated equipment
-
Experience handling horses safely and confidently
-
Sound knowledge of manual handling techniques
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills;
-
Willing to work weekends & early morning shifts
-
Strong customer service ethic
