Role Description/Criteria
Salesian College Chadstone is seeking a committed and faith-filled educator to join our community.
This important leadership position provides strategic direction for Religious Education and the College’s Oratory Program. The role is central to upholding and strengthening the Catholic and Salesian identity of the College, while supporting the faith formation, wellbeing and holistic development of our students.
The Religious Education/Oratory Learning Leader will lead high-quality learning and teaching within the Religious Education learning area, supporting a rigorous, engaging and contemporary curriculum that enables students to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and its relevance to their lives.
The role also provides leadership of the College’s Oratory Program, a distinctive expression of the Salesian charism inspired by the vision of St John Bosco. At Salesian College Chadstone, the Oratory is a place of welcome, belonging, faith and joyful community, where students are known, valued and encouraged to develop their gifts.
Through the Oratory Program, the Religious Education/Oratory Learning Leader will help create meaningful opportunities for students to deepen their faith, build positive relationships, develop leadership skills, strengthen social and emotional capabilities, engage in respectful relationships education, enhance academic study skills, participate in service, and contribute positively to the College and the wider community.
We are seeking an educator who is passionate about Catholic education, committed to the Salesian tradition, and able to inspire both staff and students through strong leadership, collaboration and a genuine commitment to student formation.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Providing strategic leadership in Religious Education curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
Supporting the Catholic and Salesian identity of the College.
Leading the planning, mapping and delivery of the College’s Oratory Program.
Promoting student faith formation, wellbeing, leadership, service and holistic development.
Working collaboratively with staff to support high-quality learning and teaching.
Contributing to a welcoming, faith-filled and student-centred College community.
