Australian Multicultural Community Centre Foundation Limited (AMCC) is seeking a professional, organised, and culturally responsive Client Intake Officer to support the delivery of community-based aged care services for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
The Client Intake Officer will play a key role in supporting participant access to aged care and community support services by managing intake processes, responding to enquiries, coordinating participant onboarding, and maintaining accurate and confidential records.
The successful candidate will work closely with participants, carers, families, support staff, and external service providers to ensure services are delivered in a respectful, person-centred, and culturally safe manner.
This position supports AMCC's aged care service delivery under registration activities and contributes to the organisation's commitment to accessible and inclusive community support services. The position will report directly to the Director/Program Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage participant enquiries relating to aged care and community support services
- Conduct intake and onboarding processes for new participants
- Assist with initial participant assessments and collection of relevant information
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date participant records in accordance with organisational policies and privacy obligations
- Support participants, carers, and families to understand available services and referral pathways
- Coordinate appointments, intake documentation, and service commencement processes
- Liaise with internal staff, external service providers, and community stakeholders to support participant access to services
- Ensure participant information is handled respectfully, securely, and confidentially
- Assist with service coordination, participant follow-up, and administrative support activities
- Identify and escalate participant wellbeing, safeguarding, or service concerns where required
- Support culturally safe and inclusive communication with participants from diverse backgrounds
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, staff meetings, and organisational training
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in administration, intake coordination, community services, aged care, disability services, or related fields
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and accurate records
- Ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative systems
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working within aged care, home care, community services, or not-for-profit organisations
- Understanding of culturally safe and person-centred service delivery practices
- Experience supporting participant intake, referrals, or onboarding processes
- Multilingual ability or experience working with multicultural communities
- Knowledge of privacy, safeguarding, and records management practices
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a flexible part-time position and may include office-based administration and intake support, participant communication and follow-up activities, community engagement and outreach support, and flexible weekday hours depending on operational requirements.
COMPENSATION
Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award and will be based on qualifications, skills, experience, and the scope of duties performed.
