Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Coder ready to step into a valued role within a high performing team. Working closely with the National Health Information Management team, you will play a key role in supporting coding excellence locally and further develop your coding expertise and network exposure.
You will:

Provide accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical coding in line with current Australian Coding Standards.

Contribute to peer support and knowledge sharing to maintain best practice and consistency.

Contribute to audits, quality activities, and ongoing service improvement.

Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and hospital requirements.

Engage with a broader network of coding professionals across Ramsay.
Skills and Experience
You are a confident and experienced Clinical Coder who:

Demonstrates a genuine interest in clinical coding and advanced knowledge of Australian Coding Standards.

Has a passion for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.

Enjoys learning, collaborating with colleagues, mentoring others, and contributing to team success.

Motivated to grow and progress your career.
You will also demonstrate:
Essential:
-
A tertiary qualification in Health Information Management or successful completion of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS 13th Edition education.
-
Demonstrated current experience in Clinical Coding including a minimum two (2) years fulltime equivalent hours coding experience (post training) coding varied and complex casemix.

Demonstrated ability to code independently with limited supervision.
-
Excellent time management and organisation skills.
-
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently as required.
-
Sound computer literacy and skills within the Microsoft Office Suite.
-
Commitment to professional development through quality activities, constructive feedback, and mentoring.
-
Eligible for membership with Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).
Desirable:
-
Experience with Meditech, Solventum, and TurboCoder.

Previous private hospital experience.
