We’re seeking a Senior Billing Officer to help safeguard and optimise our revenue systems and processes, while providing strong behavioural leadership within our team.
You’ll join an innovative team that thrives on collaboration and continuous improvement. Beyond executing daily operational tasks, you will be expected to look at the bigger picture, driving strategic solutions and uplifting the capability of those around you.
As our Senior Billing Officer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.
(Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office)
Day-to-day, you will:
Oversee and Optimise: Manage complex billing, reconciliation, and customer payment processes. You will apply your critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify operational bottlenecks, perform root-cause analysis, and take end-to-end ownership of strategic resolutions rather than just quick fixes.
Drive Insights: Leverage your AI & Data Literacy to analyse complex information, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that enhance our revenue generation cycle and overall governance.
Influence and Partner: Embrace collaborative delivery by confidently mapping stakeholder interests and adapting your communication style. You will "manage up" and present data to senior leadership, while partnering with cross-functional teams (like IT, Finance, and Customer Operations) to deliver solutions that improve our customer experience.
Lead and Mentor: Act as a 'Change Champion' with a solutions-focused mindset. You will guide peers through process rollouts and shifting priorities, while providing day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and coaching to uplift overall team capability.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
A strong foundational background in a high-volume, dynamic, and computerised billing or financial environment, with demonstrated knowledge of billing systems and processes.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to partner effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Intermediate to advanced technical proficiency in databases and spreadsheets- specifically using tools like MS Excel, MS Access, SQL Server, or Visual Basic (experience with macros, modules, queries, or scripts is highly desirable) to manage, extract, and manipulate complex data.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly understand complex, technical systems and workflows to resolve issues to the satisfaction of our customers and in line with company objectives.
Proven experience in change leadership and team development, bringing adaptability and a focus on collaborative delivery to mentor staff, maintain consistent standards, and keep teams engaged under pressure.
A results- and outcome-focused mindset, keeping commercial acumen and customer-focused thinking at the heart of your decision-making.
If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
