Allied Health Cassowary service provides high quality Allied Health Services including Child Protection Liaison, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics and Speech Pathology inpatient, emergency department and outpatient services. This position is based at Innisfail Hospital (40 beds) and additionally covers Tully (10 beds) and Babinda Hospitals (10 beds + 11 MPHS beds). Line management is through the Allied Health Team Leader and Professional reporting, including clinical supervision is through the Director of Speech Pathology and Audiology.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will....
Provide high level clinical advice regarding speech pathology intervention to peers, managers and other stakeholders regarding professional standards and issues, equipment and technology, prioritisation and development of clinical services, in relation to patient care.
Identify, develop and implement quality improvement activities or research activities and apply clinical evidence to actively contribute to enhancing speech pathology services within Cassowary allied health service and the CHHHS.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the continuum of care and apply professional judgement to a complex varied caseload, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence, to establish and deliver efficient and effective services.
