Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cabler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cabling systems, ensuring they meet technical standards and safety requirements, including working at height using rigging components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate and test data, telecommunications, fibre-optic and copper cabling systems in accordance with industry standards.
- Install communication equipment and cables at height, including an at-height rigging component using ladders, poles and elevated work platforms.
- Set up and secure basic rigging equipment required for elevated cabling installations.
- Install and maintain outlets, patch panels, cabinets, cable trays and associated telecommunications hardware.
- Conduct troubleshooting, fault-finding and repairs on existing cabling networks.
- Read and interpret cabling plans, site drawings and specifications.
- Perform cable testing and produce compliance reports using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Follow Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, particularly for at-height and confined-space work.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, equipment logs and site records.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Cabler or in a similar role.
- Experience working at height and a minimum of basic rigging qualifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work in various environments.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications preferred.
