Your impact
As our Business Development Manager, you'll play a critical role in supporting Transdev's growth strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with the Head of Business Development, you'll contribute to the identification, development, and delivery of new opportunities while helping retain and strengthen existing operations.
This role offers the opportunity to work on major transport tenders, market opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives that directly influence the future direction of our business.
The role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
What you'll do
- Support the development and execution of business development strategies aligned to Transdev's growth objectives.
- Coordinate and manage tender and proposal activities, ensuring submissions are compliant, competitive, and delivered on time.
- Develop proposal content, executive summaries, returnable schedules, and client presentations.
- Conduct market research and analyse industry trends, client priorities, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational, commercial, legal, finance, and technical teams to develop compelling bid solutions.
- Support commercial and pricing activities, including gathering assumptions and contributing to financial modelling processes.
- Participate in client engagement activities, industry forums, market sounding, and tender clarification processes.
- Maintain bid governance, approvals, compliance requirements, and document control processes.
- Assist with transition planning activities following successful contract awards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancement and AI-enabled business development solutions.

What you bring
Experience & qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Transport Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in business development, bid management, proposals, strategy, commercial analysis, or a related field.
- Experience working within project-based or cross-functional team environments.
- Exposure to transport, infrastructure, public services, or government contracting environments is highly regarded.
- Experience with tendering, procurement, contract management, or project management methodologies is desirable.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms.
