Pitaya Projects is looking for a motivated and experienced Carpenter to join our construction team on a full-time basis. The role involves performing a broad range of carpentry work across residential and commercial construction projects, including new builds, repairs, renovations, fit-outs and general maintenance works.
The successful applicant will be required to complete carpentry tasks safely, accurately and to a high standard, while working in accordance with project plans, site requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.
Key Duties
- Interpret and work from building plans, drawings, measurements and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and install timber, plywood, wallboard and other building materials.
- Construct, repair, renovate and maintain timber structures, frameworks and fixtures.
- Install wall frames, floor structures, doors, windows, skirting, architraves, cladding, fixtures and fittings.
- Carry out framing, fixing, fit-out, cladding, renovation and general carpentry duties.
- Select and prepare appropriate materials, tools and equipment for each task.
- Operate hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment in a safe and competent manner.
- Check completed work to ensure it is accurate, level, secure and finished to the required standard.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all workplace safety procedures.
- Work with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors and other construction personnel.
- Complete assigned work within project timeframes and in accordance with site directions.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant carpentry qualification, preferably AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent experience.
- Relevant practical carpentry experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications, where appropriate.
- Practical experience in residential and/or commercial carpentry work.
- Ability to read and follow construction plans, drawings and specifications.
- Strong skills in framing, fixing, installation, fit-out, cladding, renovation and general carpentry.
- Ability to work with timber, plywood, wallboard and other building materials.
- Competent in the safe use of hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Reliable, punctual, physically fit and capable of performing manual carpentry tasks.
Pay: $78,000.00 per year
