Qualifications & experience
- Certificate III level qualifications or equivalent in Wall and floor tilers or other relevant field.
- Recent minimum of three years of relevant experience working as a in Wall and floor tiler in last five years.
- A valid White card and driver license with your own reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work independently and without supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of team and provide leadership to a small team.
- Ability to problem solve and have critical thinking skills.
- Good oral communication skills.
Tasks Include:
- Reviewing plans, measuring surface areas, as well as laying out the tiling work after marking the surfaces.
- Calculations for material requirement-sheeting, tiles, adhesive, grout etc.
- Preparing surface of the walls and floor which may involve removing of old tiles, plaster and flooring, filling cracks and holes. Clean surfaces.
- Application of adhesive onto prepared surfaces, cutting tiles, tiling and grouting.
- Shape and cute tiles with the Tiler cutter tool. Some tiles needed to shaped from edges and corners according to the surrounding objects such as pipes and fittings.
- Ensure that tiles are correctly cut and shaped
- Preparation of floor area and levels
- Ensure tiles are correctly aligned and placed
- Preparation and application of waterproofing as required
- Lay coloured tiles in patterns and mosaics.
- Lay floors with mixture of compositions such as cement, terrazzo and granolithic
- At last grout tiles and remove excess material.
- Checking all finished works and signing off completed works
