The Role:
As a Business Analyst within the AP+ Member Onboarding team, you'll play a critical role in enabling new participants and existing members to successfully connect to Australia's payments ecosystem. Working across onboarding activities and member-initiated change requests, you'll act as the bridge between our customers, product and technical teams, ensuring solutions are clearly understood, accurately documented and delivered efficiently.
This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused role where you'll manage multiple concurrent workstreams, facilitate technical discussions, capture business and system requirements, and guide stakeholders through complex onboarding and change activities. Success requires someone who is highly organised, customer-focused and comfortable working with ambiguity while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. The role aligns with AP+'s broader Business Analyst capability of translating business needs into practical technical solutions, producing high-quality analysis artefacts and supporting successful delivery outcomes.
Key outcomes the role will own
-
Partner with members, product managers and technical delivery teams to successfully onboard new participants and deliver member-initiated changes across AP+'s payments platforms.
- Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements, ensuring clear traceability from discovery through to implementation.
- Manage a high volume of concurrent onboarding activities, effectively prioritising work while maintaining quality, accuracy and delivery timeframes.
- Facilitate workshops and technical discussions, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable requirements for both business and technical audiences.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement throughout the onboarding lifecycle, proactively managing expectations, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, process flows, decision logs, risks, actions and implementation artefacts.
- Support solution validation, testing and operational readiness to ensure member onboarding activities are delivered successfully and meet agreed outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve onboarding processes, documentation standards and member experience through continuous improvement initiatives.
Required experience to be successful in the role
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys working directly with customers to solve complex operational and technical challenges.
You'll bring:
-
Experience as a Business Analyst within payments, banking or financial services, ideally supporting customer onboarding, implementation or technical delivery.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, comfortably balancing up to 20 concurrent work items while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging directly with customers, technical teams and business stakeholders to drive outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts and produce clear, high-quality documentation.
- Experience eliciting, documenting and managing business and system requirements across the delivery lifecycle using Agile or contemporary delivery practices.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Jira and Confluence.
- Resilience, with the ability to work through ambiguity, respond professionally to challenge and adapt quickly as priorities evolve.
- Payments industry experience is highly regarded, particularly within the eftpos ecosystem. Experience supporting digital wallets, tokenisation, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Wallet implementations will be viewed favourably.
- A disciplined approach to governance, ensuring decisions, risks, assumptions and actions are accurately captured and maintained throughout delivery.
Please note: Experience focused solely on compliance or regulatory reporting is unlikely to provide the breadth of business analysis capability required for this role.
